Went out to the same general area I caught all the trout yesterday and the winds were considerably slower and so was the bite. However, I did catch and release 12 nice keeper trout and a bunch of dinks. The two biggest were 22 and 23.

But the most excitement I had was with the one fish I didn't catch. I was working my sand eel and I get a bite and I go to set the hook and I miss it. My lure comes out of the water followed by a big yellow mouth that was trying to catch it in the air but missed. Splashed back in and swam off. A heart throbbing 3 seconds. Awesome

lol - i see them ganging up on you some foggy morning out on the back 40 - be careful - i like many others, check the board to see how you did each day. Very Happy I am now "retired" - but working on a project of my own. I am limiting my self to one day a week on the sand, a week day, thank goodness now, so one day - unless i hear they are killing them down the island - and its a week day. Or unless, i just feel like going. But i avoid weekends, weekend traffic is really something now.

There's no better way to social distance than be out by yourself in the boat catching some fish.

Nice day.

I swear Mar 20 kayak trip I had a 25" sow trout come unhooked, and my buddy caught it...
(of course you don't get the short-focal-length false perspective)

I think something similar happened in Rattlesnake Bay, far south TX 3 years ago - I had another big trout come unhooked, and my buddy paddled over one in a sand hole he said was 30"
