Well, my buddy and I ended up finding a fish of a lifetime, a 31" speckled trout, and it was the biggest trout either of us has seen by far. Here is the video of what happened:

My question is what would/should you do a situation like this?

You take one of those pics of the fish with your arms fully extended, the fish like 6 inches from the camera, your fingers hidden behind the fish, and enjoy your new avatar.

Enjoyed your video, and especially your find! I guess we need to start throwing 11" baits! Laughing

I ordered some 7" tuna poppers from Alibaba the day after we got back to target these big trout and the monster bull reds. I will be fishing all day for that one bite.

The big girls have been caught on anything from a small hand made fly (Texas record trout) to much larger baits, but if you are going to start throwing just a larger bait I encourage you to consider the Rebel broken-back in silver. It's a slow walking-floating/diving bait which has a lot of action. The rear hook stays down below the bait so when it's struck at, it's usually a hookup. Although it's a floating bait, because it has a lip it dives as shallow as you would like, due to your retrieve. However, it's not one to throw when there is a lot of floating grass, as most top-waters are not. Enjoy!

I concur on Rebel broken backs. They're an awesome bait. Use anywhere in the bays or the surf. I like the silver with the black back or the white with red

That is basically the same bait, just another name.
