I FISHED Lighthouse Lakes today. Not much catching. Also after reading Zias report I feel better about myself. Launched from the big drain to the east of the covered gazebo. I wanted to work my way back around to the flats across from the old casino boat dock. Needless to say the wind & my barge had different thoughts. I worked middle of the lakes. I worked mangroves & points. I hit cuts as well. I threw a bone spook jr. Trout Support grass walker & a gold spoon. Of course there was a cork & shrimp in the mix. I had intended to do some sight casting. The only thing in sight were the rays & horse mullet. I figured I find at least one red amongst them. Not a chance. I was staring the skunk in the eye. That is until I worked the drain on the way out. Live shrimp on a fish finder rig managed a 15 & 17 |

thanks for the report - two nice trout
Where I've found good fish on LHL are probably farther paddles than you want to take on.
I know Jim has a friend who fishes there often and does really well. |

I do not mind a good paddle. If I know that is going to happen I will bring my Tarpon & not the Diablo. I need to improve my fish finding skills as well as my soft plastic game. Thought I was working structure properly. Every time I think I am improving I have a day where I struggle to find a bite. |
