What do y'all think about rod baskets? Aluminum or steel? Where did you buy yours? I have a suburban and I'm looking to upgrade my rod transportation methods in the near future. Thanks for the input! And if anyone has something they are willing to part ways with let me know!

Welcome to another episode of the CorpusFishing dropped message PHP code apostrophe bug.

Today's game is to guess what is the most popular word that comes after the word "What"

Our panel has determined the third most popular is "did" - What did...
The second most popular is "is" - What is...
And the most popular word to follow is "the" - What the....

Congratulations to our contestant today for guessing the most popular word!!!

A big Thanks goes out to Squidder for providing the dropped message of the day. And if you still are wondering what happened, using an apostrophe is a sure way of having your message cut off.

I'm exposing my ignorance again, but what is a "rod basket"? Is it the same thing, as what Tyler was selling some time ago?

Pardon me for jumping in. I believe a rod basket is the woven version of a rod rack. It is not clear if it also includes the cooler rack or not. Laughing

The type of rod basket I'm asking about usually mounts on the front receiver hitch and is either made of aluminum or steel. I guess the second nature of my post was to see if anyone had any recommendations for suburban racks. Its currently at Blue Streak Fabrication getting outfitted with a top platform. Might just have them fab up a rod basket as well

Last time I was in the market for a rod rack I was surprised that there didn't seem to be a whole lot of manufacturers selling them. I think the big maker is Surf Mate or something like that. Got mine at Roy's.

Whatever you get or have fabbed, I strongly recommend getting one that has a couple of the rod holders mounted at an angle if you are going to be long rod fishing with small baits that need to be changed a lot. After you real in you can put the rod in one of those angled holders so the terminal end of the line isn't getting all tangled up in the rods/reels/rod holders/lines when you are rebaiting or unhooking your fish. Sounds like a minor deal but if you are down there in the fall laboring away to replenish your pompano supply and working two or three rods each with multiple hooks, that tangle sh1t gets old quick.

I may have a used surfmate Jr I can let go of if you still need a rack.
