As others have said it was a tough weather week - changing winds from undesirable direction . Have some photos that show weather & high tide conditions that will take your truck away in the middle of night !!
Well dang I still cant post photos - sorry .
Anyway there was a short window from just before sunrise till about 9am Tuesday morning when the water started to clear & settle before turning to milk shake again I managed one 36" red , skip jacks & assorted trash . Wednesday one 40' Black tip & that was all she wrote . Wednesday I could not get a 6oz sand spike to hold & even if I could the fish were turned off .
Too the smiling Lady in the red jeep that stopped by to say she loved my beach buggy & the fisherman in the green Dodge pickup that stopped by & asked if I knew Colin -- I so regret not seizing the moment by offering you the steaks & chicken I had just char coaled for I had no ice left & could not save the meat so had to leave it for the coyotes , an embarrassing waste .
It was rough but still magic as only the beach can be despite the weather & a few assorted googans & sand speedsters . Ill be back !

Joe it was good to see you my friend! It seems like just this morning we were visiting, so where did the time go? I do think Ralph woulda been smiling down, but he mighta been yelling, "But was there any TROUT?? Any MULLET?"

I posted your pics you sent me, hope you don't mind. The tide never came down this week after you left, we had zero beach left by Friday's charter in the PM hours.

Glad you made it down, the twice a week fronts have been a trip, but I do hope you found some of what you needed down there. I'm really glad you didn't have any "problems" either. There were some quite un-belonging 25-30 yr old male "individuals" walking barefoot north later on after you left this week that not only didn't even try to hide in the dune as we approached but when we drove on by, they looked me right in the eye as we eased by and it wasn't nothing nice. We're all gonna have to start watching our backs again down there at night I do suppose. Was good to see you, glad we both survived the "sand speedsters" and the rest. Laughing

Good to see you! I was in the green truck, Ford though. I would have stayed and chatted but was a little worried about how high those tides were getting and wanted to get off the sand. Hope to see ya down there again soon.

Thanks for adding the photos Colin . I need to get my self trained on the new photo system . Those " walkers " - my concern is they may get tired of walking & try to hijack a ride !
Deputydawg I have seen your post here for years - good to meet you . Yes sir that high water had us all on the move . Thats what I wanted my photos to show (that are not posted ) this high water is serious especially for newbys on the beach . I narrowly survived Wednesday night high tide assisted by the 20 mph wind out of the NE . I was snugged up close to the dunes at about the 24 mm & the water at its peak came under my rear east tire about three AM .
Looks like we will get a surf weather windw next week , if so I will be back then .

Joe, it was great to visit with you longer this time as well. Holler at me if you can get down next week. I shoulda mentioned, I was fishing just south of your camp from early on, about 4am until you got up around 630, kinda just keeping on eye on things I suppose. You musta been surprised to wake up to me leaving you a pile of bait with a sand note. Laughing

This back beach accretion combined with this nuisance flooding (credit of course to the "Senior"-terminology) is bad news. Had hoped Harvey would have knocked some of it down, no dice. Dredging starts soon, here's hoping for some migrating sand to build a wide beach again in places.

Doug glad you could meet up with Joe, he's one real good fellow!
