Was a fun, rough weekend that was for sure. Tides to dunes, buried truck, spooled 80W. Still fun and the FFA Ag class shark trailer worked great. When I could use it that is. Saw a bunch of trucks being towed out from below the 30MM.

You couldn't pay me to go down for another month after Sharkathon. Especially after adverse conditions. It's not only a trashed beach, but destroyed. I know they promote conservation, but I have NEVER seen it left better than it was before the tournament. NEVER. The only good ting is that the beach gets so ripped up that the sand gets a break because no one can make it down there....even with the Ford Raptors, LED bars, 12 inch lifts, shark racks and tires too big for the axle ratio (which is why they can't make it down there any better than a 4x2 if they tried). Shocked

My mom and wife picked up a couple garbage bags full of "stuff" from the beach. We were only 14.5 miles down PINS but the beach was pretty clean fo there to the pavement. Maybe the water to the dunes helped. Only had a few jerks fly by our camp but it was worth it to see a Toyota get airborn and the passenger "pucker up". Lots of trucks headed out had piles of garbage bags in the back.

But I do recall a few years ago telling my wife "we will never go to the beach again during Sharkathon"

WE just got back from the 20mm yesterday. Went down Monday. Beach was about as clean as I have ever seen it. Very hard packed from all the water to the dunes. With all the bad conditions at the tournament they sure did a great job of hauling off all the trash. Congrats to them. We caught a couple of reds and some whiting. Fishing could have been better. We bailed when the front hit Wednesday.
