i have and have seen the soft flip tails used thats not what I am asking about but any info is appreciated.
I am referencing surf fishing on PINS at night.
Has anyone tried glow in the dark spoons or other baits (including the flip tails) with any great results.
I saw some glow in the dark soft squid I thought was interesting and then started seeing some spoons and different things and wondered if any of them might work a little or a lot?
Thought about spray painting some I have.

Next problem I have is I cant seem to find much in the way of 4-6 oz spoons and such. Every time I do a search it tried to pull up 1/4 3/4 anything with a 4 in it but no actual 4 or 6 oz baits/spoons, for Surf casting. Any suggestions.

Glow in the dark works, but blue, purple and black also work in the dark.

For big, check out Tady surface lures, they're like a solid-section spoon in cast aluminum, which sinks at a controlled rate. The Tady Starman 112 is 6" and 3.4 oz.

Sea Striker makes a 5oz chrome spoon
https://www.amazon.com/Sea-Striker-SES500B-1-Casting-Fishing/dp/B00AU5TVE6/ref=sr_1_8
Halco makes a 5" 2 oz spoon

and Hogy's makes giant slow-sinking epoxy jigs in glow in the dark, and beautiful prismatic colors.
The 6" Hogy's is 4 oz
But you might find the 2oz 4-1/2" lure to cast enough like a bullet for your need.

Hogy's also makes giant paddletail and eel soft baits up to 6oz

In hard baits, 5" Mirrolure 85M is 2-1/2 oz
Halco Max lures sink fast, and are available in 2-7/8 oz to over 6 oz

Tyler, have you had luck throwing those glow-in-the-darks in the surf at night ?

Howdy CF friends
I happened by to read messages today since too cool and wet to be out today.
I know this changes to subject. However, the years prior to becoming a Winter
Texan I had most positive results with glow in the dark lures while ice fishing.
Just thought you might cool down thinking of ice fishing since you are still smoking hot

I've heard snook like them. But I don't think they increase the bite on lures for specks and reds. Black is good at night with surface or near surface lures.

During a full moon I like to throw black spoons at night. Caught a lot of fish that way.

Tobin, my biggest snook (break-off) cast into the dark was a 3" Tsunami SS3 in Blue Back, and always one of my change-up lures for night fishing.
I saw the 30+" fish creeping past our dock to the next dark dock, and when I heard him slurping, threw the lure over there, which he took instantly, but I had been catching schoolie specs on light tackle, and my drag wasn't set for honking snook - hadn't had my coffee, either.
He went back to slurping, and I tried my other change-up lures on and off, but couldn't turn him again.

Got my spec limit that morning in 15 casts, spread over an hour before first light, by sitting on the dock to watch the fish sign, and changing up lures.
Bone-diamond glow TSL grasswalker was in the rotation and took its share.
The first morning that week, I counted, and had to release 45 nursery trout to get a limit, but I did much better by sitting and watching for the schoolies to move in and out of the lights, focus-cast to get by the nursery trout.
The smallest here was 16", which simplifies measuring, no need to piddle, and fillet perfectly

Awesome Job Ron. Good work. Yeah the TSL will pull the bigger ones out at night. I'm hoping to get some night fishing in this fall after my vacation of sorts up north to musky fish.
