Hello all,

I'm Bryan. I just moved to Beeville from the Austin Metro area. Elgin to be exact. I've been wanting to saltwater fish for decades and even managed a charter or two the past few years, but because it was so far away I never got into it.

Well, a life changing incident happened and it led to me moving 60 miles away from the beach. When one door closes SOME times another opens. I got lucky this time haha.

Anyways, if there's anyone looking to take a new guy under his OR HER wing to show me the ropes I would appreciate it.

I figured first I'd get the shore fishing down. By then I should figure out if I want to do a kayak, jetski, or boat.

I like deep water fishing, but it's just me. So getting fish so big that I couldn't eat it all would not be good. I love trout and flounder. Last time I was in Port O'Connor we had a good outing and that was some good eating.

Anyways, yes, I'll be reading the forum. But nothing is better than first-hand experience.

I do have some gear, but as I found out last weekend when I went out, I don't have near enough. I didn't even have weights lol. I found one small weight in the sand and used it. Did well too. Caught enough seaweed to make a sushi roll!!!!

I'm not new to fishing, just the saltwater kind. Heard they all have teeth?? I don't remember the trout giving us any issue nor the flounder.

Hope to meet some of you.

Fresh water lures work great on saltwater fish.
