"In order to verify length and species, a fish caught may
not have the head or tail removed and may not be filleted
until an angler finally lands the catch on the mainland, a
peninsula, or barrier island not including jetties or piers and
does not transport the catch by boat."

If I read this right, if I'm on a pier any pier, say Bob Hall, and I catch a fish to big for the cooler I have on the pier, I am not allowed to cut the head or tail off, or even cut it in half? Unless I take it back to my truck and do it there and leave it in the truck?
Granted it doesn't say I cant cut it in half but I really would hate to find out the hard way.

This old thread covers your question. As you can see it's a little bit confusing.
