Went for a drive down to just past the 25 mm, good news , bad news , and bad news. Get the bad news out of the way, water was about a 2 for clarity, secondly, as previous mentioned on the board, water definitely cooler -, the good news, no weed, no old dead - no new incoming , so thats good. I was just throwing topwaters, didnt throw any bait, did not get a look that i saw, though there were bait fish in the water, and i saw them jump a few times, didnt see any swirls to indicator predators chasing them. Birds were spread out, saw two groups of pelicans in the 25 miles and they did not look to be fishing.
Other good news, the driving was nice, the temp was great, great evening to be down there, beating the heat , and enjoying that gorgeous island. Lots of small shells.
I threw the red and white rapala top water - and nothing else, as murky as the water was , hoping the fish were using the ifr protocol and would find it anyway. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |
