Any recommendation on towing insurance? I used to have Progressive which was inexpensive but it bothered me that I had to call them and rely on them to call a service. I would rather call a service direct myself or if out of cell phone range a service who may monitor a marine radio.

Don't know how much they charge but I see a lot of boats being towed in by SeaTow here in the bluff

Call Boat US.
Local Sea Tow guy retrieved a boat for my friend when a low tide stranded him.
Instead of just floating it and towing it, he tricked him into signing a work order that included the word salvage, then charged $6,600 for salvaging the boat for him.
Legal or not, that is theft.
I am amazed every time I see that guy is still alive.
LF.

I don't know anything about Seatow, but I see their boat at Bluff's Landing, and the operator appears to live nearby on Laguna Shores. I have had TowBoatUS for about 15 years now and have been very happy with their service. Long story short, but the first time I used them it cost me heavily, because I did not have a membership. However, my wife has always made sure I had the coverage every year thereafter, including trailer coverage. My use of TowBoatUS has been in Galveston Bay and around Port Aransas, so I would encourage you to make sure they have a representative wherever you plan to be boating.

Towboat US. I have had some very bad experiences with Seatow.
