I have a nephew and several nieces coming for Spring Break.
I fish artificials almost exclusively and rarely catch any drum. Drifting and wading the flats chasing trout is about all I do until the surf heats up.
I would like very much to get the kids into some lower slot drum while they are here.
Where do I look? How do I find them? Depth? Current? Structure?
I will understand if you want to avoid plastering your valuable knowledge on the internet and I will gladly settle for a private message.

We have caught them in the undeveloped canals on the north end of nighthawk before, although haven't tried recently. You will need a relatively skinny running boat to get in there though. I cant answer if any have been in there lately, but ran over a huge school of drum in nighthawk a few weeks back, so might be worth checking out.

anchoring up along the KRS and doing some chumming in a few spots should get them around and fired up....

Many years ago, probably in the 80s, my wife and I sat in Emmonds Hole in a 17' Wellcrft one night with a light below the boat, and using shrimp rigged on a Texas rig (hook extended below a sliding egg sinker from a swivel about 18"), and on the bottom. We literally filled every box, hole, etc. with black drum until about 3 AM. The funny thing about the experience is, we were at a cleaning station somewhere near SPID and a professional fisherman came up and felt so sorry for us, due to our many fish and our obvious struggle to get them clean, he asked if he could clean them for us, and would take no payment after going through those fish like Zorro! We had fished all day, then into the night, so the help was much appreciated, to say the least! After that night my wife called fishing with me an endurance contest! Good luck finding those kids some fish!

Chum is an interesting concept. Most Floridians wont fish without it, to the point that they even have "grades" of chum. Not sure what "Professional Chum (ground fish parts), and regular ground fish parts are. They sell it in 8 lb frozen blocks, with cases of 8 getting a discount. As a kid fishing the Chesapeake bay we took a board and a grinder and frozen fish parts, Ground them directly over the side. They worked too. In California they throw live anchovies over the side. Floridians do the same with glass minnows and small pilchards.
