I was just reading the thread about trailer repair and a post reminded me I had heard a couple of years ago Laguna Shore Road was scheduled to be completely redeveloped in 2018. Has any thing more been heard of such a plan? Money funded, or not funded, or totally off of the improvements schedule? Anyone?

The Isaland Moon newspaper is a good source of info if you read thru the comic articles and witty commentary.

They mentioned the Bond Election for pavement work near Clems/Billings/Snoopys/Marker 37 ($1.7 million if I remember right), and Laguna Shores Rd ($7 million IIRC).

Of couse, that was before the huge sewage mainline work being done down Laguna Shores right now (will sewage funds pay for that re-paving?)

Surveyors have been up and down Laguna Shores for the last couple pf months.

The Island Moon also covered the Corps of Engineers work to be done to Packery Jetties that someone was asking about earlier.

Your reply is encouraging! Utility lines are generally improved before roads are improved, so they don't have to go back and tear them up again to repair the utility lines. Sounds like they are taking the first steps to move forward with re-doing Laguna Shores! Hooray! I'm sure my neighbors who have lived in Flourbluff a lot longer than we have will tell me to not get too excited until the road is actually done. Laughing

I just hope they do not tear up the recently paved road from Graham Rd to Hustlin Hornet Rd, and put the money towards the bad parts of Laguna Shores

After the current area of Laguna Shores is paved the next one in the works is going to be from Hustlin Hornet drive to Caribbean. The final stage will be from Yorktown to the end of Laguna Shores Road. Becky probably will have more information about that

It looks shocking similar now as to when I first drove down when I originally got my license.

In 1981 Shocked !!!

pretty smart thinking....the answer is yes, and we put in the add-alt for the current crew to do exactly that...

segment one is from SPID to Graham, which you know they are working on now....segment two is from Hustlin Hornet to Caribbean as Zia mentioned, and is up next for repair...segment three is from Mediterranean all the way to the end, which is the last section...I'm also lobbying for them to add in the small section on Claudia in front of the ramps at bluff landing..

Looked at the current segment of Laguna Shores Rd. this morning that is under repair between SPID and Graham. Looks like the repairs are nothing more than a very large patch. Right down the middle of the road. At least that is what I see from the barricade on the Graham Rd. end.
