Ok
Here is my plan. Clear water has returned to the beach at Whitcap beach. Therefore, I plan fishing the surf during the eclipse.
Any thoughts from the locals?
I will be by the bollards at the end of whitecap.

That idea goes in the file. Did that, no need to do it again.
Weeds and hardheads are no fun in day light but the are significantly less fun in the dark!

Bravo! [Whilst I snicker] It takes a big Man to admit defeat.

Although I saw that the surf had turned an awful brown yesterday afternoon, so I would have recommended bagging it.

No other anglers on the beach.
I did not think it was cold.
Being from Wyoming cold has a little different temperature.
I often wear long underwear in my insulated waders two or three layers on top with a stocking cap. Glacier gloves that your allow water in like a wet suit.
The air temperature is sub freezing, water temperatures mid 30s. Ice on slack water stream side.
That is why I am fishing here for winter fishing. Also why I sold our snowmobiles.

Cool Cool

this morning started 14-degrees on the Guadalupe

but it quickly warmed up with the sun

this was a 26" rainbow hen, I didn't take another photo of her because of the winding fight - got her unhooked at my leg without even netting her

A guide's fare caught her two weeks later and submitted her for the state catch-and-release record. But I saw their long photo set, and I suspect they killed her from everyone handling her.
She's also not as big as the 27" 8-lb buck I released, and a couple of guide friends have released 9- and 10-lb trout in the Guad.
