| I think I caught one pomp in my whole life. What conditions create a pomp window? |

Good tide movement, light winds and small surf. _________________ It's all about the family..... |

Pompano ("Pomps") are sight-feeding surf fish which are most often caught a great distance from shore. Good water clarity is therefore best for presenting your bait and for seeing bottom structure, such as pinches, points and bars, to target with your casts. It's also very helpful if the wind is light and at your back when you cast, and that the waves are small if you're wading out to get to their feeding zone. Finally, because it takes a little while after the surf has been rough and the water murky for the "window of opportunity" to catch pomps to open, the window usually doesn't begin until the winds have slowed and/or have swung around towards the west for at least 24 hours. _________________ The Trash Heap Has Spoken!
