We took the dogs out to the beach Saturday morning near Newport Pass Rd., when it was still real foggy and cool.
They (we have 2 dogs) were a ways up the beach. As the Wife-Unit and I were beachcombing along the base of the dunes, all of a sudden, I look up and I see "3" dogs!?!?!
Turns out, it was a young coyote that had just passed within 10-15 feet of us, on a slow jog up the beach. I SWEAR, once it passed, it turned it's head and gave me a sly 'nod of the head', then turned and disappeared into the dunes.
RIP Capt. Sandifer, and thanks for the nod.
