|
|
Hate these decisions, Have several shooter bucks this morning chasing does out here, and with this nice cool front I know the odds are pretty damn good of hooking a sow trout back in Baffin this weekend.
Loading the boat tonight, leaving early in the morning.
The window is open with 14 mph North winds Friday, turning back to the South Saturday.
I prefer hunting anyway right before Thanksgiving when it really cools down.
Decision Made ! Wish the wife could think like me ?? |

I hear your pain: if it's any consolation, I think you're early on both accounts!
but I vote for fishing anyway....LOL

Winds are supposed to be in the mid twenties by lunch on Saturday, unfortunately. |

I'd take a big trout over a deer anyday! Of course i've got a house full of animal mounts and never caught a really big trout lol!
Good luck whatever you choose! |

We have been after them since Sept 29. A lot of deer movement in the oak motts and surrounding areas. Nothing hitting feeders right now as there are still a ton of acorns on the ground. With that said we are still killing a lot of nice deer at the ranch. _________________ Shane |

I always fill my tag with at least 6 deer. two are Axis. This is the first time in a while that the does up here in Kendall County started to come in to season hard the first week of October.
Also a first that the Brush Country, or South Texas starts with us in the North Zone. About time !!
My acorns are done, but lord we have some cool season forbs growing just fine.
Alters are above average, which is surprising because not much rain a this summer. I feed year round, and will be laying out Alfalfa squares bales soon to gather more Axis this winter.
Shoot um & Hook um !!! |

Easy peasy. Take your rifle and stop by the lease on your way back from Baffin. |
