I had read many topics on this forum gaining much knowledge. One area that I have struggled with for many years was reading the surf or beachfront. Many topics have covered this but TowBoat had one of the best at least for my peewee brain. The pictures he provided put me on the right track. THANKS TOWBOAT TRASH for your awesome posts and pictures!!!
I live on the upper coast and fish Galveston and the surrounding area. My wife and I made a couple of trips down to the beach found some good water and were able to locate the rips with the white foam. I caught Pompano, Trout, Redfish, and Spanish Macks. All were caught on a gold 3/4oz Kastmaster spoon.
Both trips produced fish with the last one adding small sharks to the mix on cut mullet. In fact, I was so busy running sharks rods I had to cut back to one rod. Sorry, no pictures all fish were released (pomps were hard to let go but I didn't plan on a kill trip). |

| LOL, That was combat fishing, the waves were breaking on my chest and at times over my head. It was all could do to keep from getting stuck with a hook.Macks for some reason try really hard at dislodging a hook using my thigh. So no pics I was glad to get them off and catch the next. |

Sounds like a great day! Congrats!
Oso, there is no link, just a few fishing reports with a few fun pointers thrown in. _________________ Protect Padre at all costs for future generations to use and enjoy and never forget our freedoms aren't free.

Thats the link to one of the posts. |
Grandpa, here is a link to a bunch of other posts by year. You will just have to skip past all the running around behind the dunes looking for Indians, and so on....

What a great site. I need to book a trip with you. I really need to learn how to take photos, yours are great. I'm getting better with anything it takes practice. |
