|
|
A pharmacist friend (ex-Navy no less) in Florida turned me on to some safe biting insect relief. This doesn't keep them away, just banishes the itch. The secret is to have a stick of anti perspirant handy. Once the itch starts, rub in some of the anti perspirant and voila, the itch is gone. The active ingredient is aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex. If the itch returns a second application may be needed.
Works for me. _________________ Gary J

Only problem being: itching won't cause Alzheimers and/or other brain problems, while the evidence grows stronger every year that Aluminum does!!! _________________ Dave

I used to clean a lot of aluminum wheels for leaking beads when I lived in NY....
I breathed quite a bit of aluminum dust.... I found out later it wasnt good.....
But I still wear antiperspirant..... I wont know who i am or where I am but i wont stink! |

Since I wear deodorant not anti-perspirant, I should be able to get by with the exposure on mosquito bites. _________________ Gary J

Whatever you want to call it, read the label. If you want to put aluminum on or in your body, it's a free country! _________________ Dave

Any of the many diseases contracted from mosquito bites are far riskier than the minuscule amount of aluminum one would apply to a bite.
A little dab of rubbing alcohol will offer relief also. |

| I was raised on the East Texas Gulf coast in Orange, and have been bitten by mosquitoes my entire life and have never had an itch from their bites. Hopefully, I'm not the only person who has this experience. I will admit though, when the mosquitoes are bad here in Flour Bluff, they are as bad as I can ever remember them at home, so I generally wear some kind of dope to retard their bite, primarily because of the different deceases possible from their bite. |
