Had less than 2 hours to fish, so we got some live shrimp and hit the surf. Found a feeding frenzy and decided to fish it. there were tons of skipjack, most of them over 20 inches, some in the high 20s. mixed in were spanish mackerel. caught a few small trout 12-14 in range and a few rat reds. The water was pretty clear, but could get a little better. Now we just need no more cold water upwellings. I believe the fish were feeding on glass minnows, but i could be wrong... tight lines

I had that same run in on Friday night at bobhall pier. The skipjacks were really big and very aggressive to any moving bait. They were beating out the trouts any time I could spot one.

Good to hear things are getting better in the surf. I've been itching to get out there real bad

Had the same - fished from noon until around 430 or so - whiting, rat reds, one nice fat red , 23 inch, the guy down from us, live croakers, caught 4 17-19 inch specs in about 45 minutes.
