Anyone catching grovers yet? We had a harsh winter but it appears that the snook survived, perhaps mangrove snapper did as well.

I know that it is early and that the fall run is the best time of year, but according to my Facebook feed from years past this is about this time of year when I start catching grovers.

I fished the south jetty from sunrise to noon week before last with live shrimp and mud minnows, not a single mangrove snapper.

Anyone been into a mess of them this year?

Tough to beat a box full of Eatin size grovers.
