Met up with my son and went hunting down in Southern New Mexico from the Bosque del Apache down to White Sands Missile Range. First day involved goose hunting and we had a pretty successful day. Flocks were coming in 20 to 30 at a time instead of hundreds and hundreds. Made shooting awesome.

The next day we went down to Alamogordo adjacent to the White Sands Missile Range. We were planning on Hunting quail in the afternoon followed by oryx hunting but we decided just on oryx instead. Got this nice 400 pounder towards evening with the horns 33 in Long. Awesome animal with very very thick hide.

Interesting fact about oryx is that they were brought into the White Sands Missile Range from the Kalahari in Africa. They thought that the herd would eventually taper off at about five or six hundred animals but at the present time there are over 1,500 in that area; more than what is currently in their original range in the Kalahari

OMG... What a great Job you have done with your son. Now I guess Southern New Mexico isn't bad for hunting Smile

Keep it up Smile
