| Got to PINS around 10 and the weather was beautiful. The surf was loaded with whiting and ladyfish. Picked up a nice slot red and about a 4 foot blacktip. Also caught a few bonnetheads, and had the biggest shark I have ever had on the line but he snapped 135# surflon like it was 10 lb test. Really fun day.. Weather started getting windy late afternoon and the seaweed started rolling in fast. |

Thanks for the report. Glad you boxed some fish. Supposed to head down Wednesday and Thursday. Hoping conditions are in my favor for the trip. _________________ wishin i was fishin! |

Was down pins a little ways south of the 20. Cast netted some mullet and had some fun with spanish mackerals.
This guy measured 31 inches - caught another at 21 inches. Both were hooked solidly inside the mouth, but not I thought near the gills. But both were bleeding from the gills by the time I got the hooks out, is that common with Spanish mackeral or maybe I was too rough. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

It's common. Spanish Macs, Bluefish and skipjacks are all very bloody.
Be careful unhooking them in the surf, somebody might be along for a snack. |

Appreciate the tip - I unhooked them up on the sand. The spanish mackeral was very good eating - as I said earlier, this one was big to me, but I didnt think it was a big one in general, was surprised in reading the igfa information about it. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |
