Boat runs fine. Truck to pull boat needs a front axle seal. 2003, 2500hd with leaking front axle seal. I cannot get the axle shaft out on the drivers side. Looked up all the tricks on U-tube. Tried the wedge, tried the tapping method, tried the put pressure on it and hammer method, etc. It will not release from the differential. There is a keeper ring that holds it in place. Keeper will stay in place in differential when shaft is removed. Supposed to be able to use one of the methods above to remove it. With all that being said, does anyone know a shop that they trust. I do most of my own work on the vehicle. This time I am in a bind.
Thanks in advance and have a blessed day,
Tom |

Either that ^^^ or GreatState Transmissions on SPID.
They have served me well through 3 different repairs, and it sounds like yours is right up their alley. {They even sent me away once, with a diagnosis of "It ain't the tranny - or the power train".... $$$0 Dollars....

Just called them - Pro Automotive, to look at my jeep. The earliest appointment is Friday. Looks like business is booming. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Used them for years, good shop
For several years we would get Paul / Jaime to give our car the check up,then my wife & our little Jack Russel would hit the road to Oregon without me.
I would fly out 2 weeks later to drive em back, hows that for an endorsement of trust ? |

pro automotive is good, but they are busy. I went to high school with Jamie (owner), he's a great guy.
Doug's automotive is also a good place. Over on navigation and leopard. He's been in business for over 30 years in that same place. He does a lot of commercial work, but I take my personal vehicles to him quite a bit. He's usually fast, and always fair on pricing. |
