Hey all of you hard cores, someone points a gun at you and says you have to go surf fishing - and there is seaweed out there enough to really mess with your fishing, what would you do?

How do you deal with it - and what I dealt with last night - was a pita, but I know much worse will be here over time - - and what do yall do ? Just go fish somewhere else ? Watch football ? Cut bait ? Clean out tackleboxes ? I want/need to fish.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Buy an aquarium, stock it with colorful fish (right Prof. Salt?), and watch them swim around until the 'brown, floating plant material' loosens it death grip on the beach face.

Unless'n you like the fable of Sisyphus, you wait until the weed 'has left the building'. Wink

angle your lines into the current, fish short, and keep your rod tip up as high as you can...

Good suggestion - plus that gets me in the water - and thats really why I need to be out there. I know there are a lot of fish in the water during sargassum episodes - I watched them when snorkling years ago.

Thanks "becky" - i hear for a lady, you have very hairy legs. True/False ?

We drove slightly further and stopped once there was less of it on the beach which was around the 6mm. Didn't have to deal with it very much at all. Bull reds were hitting casted out baits as well as those paddled out
