Coming down this weekend and I don't want to get in the way of anyone's recovery efforts.

Not going to bring the boat since I doubt there is a working boat ramp. Can I get to the south jetty instead?

Last I saw, no (but that was on the 9th). It was knee-deep all the way from the pavement by the UTMSI road to the jetties, and south to near the County Building. Only thing visible were the bollards about 3/4 of they way out of what used to be the beach. Haven't been back since. Perhaps a more recent report will help you out. Mind you, there were still a few hardy souls on the jetty, but that would have been an epic walk with gear for fishing.

(And the UTMSI brick sign by the road got blown over and snapped in 1/2!!! Shocked )

I was there this morning and yes, you can walk to the sea wall about halfway between the UT buildings and the normal entrance. The entire corner of the beach where we parked before the storm is gone, and some of the giant the rocks have partially shifted but the jetty is there and accessible. It's easy when the tide is running out, but at high tide it takes a little walking through a field.

just park where the pavement ends. I just walked from there out to the jetty and didn't have to wade through the water like I did a few days ago. And then you also don't have to wash the car/truck!

Plenty of mullett in the new inlet south of south jetty, too!

Unbelievable that the giant granite stone blocks could be moved. All I can think is the sand underneath must have washed out to cause this. But who knows?
