Great forum for us wannabe surf fishers...thanks all for sharing your knowledge!

PINS Forecast thru end of Sept and 1st week of Oct shows persistent N/NE winds. Besides possible tidal influence how will this affect the bite? Seems like a long period of N winds.

I am looking to go to Mansfield, and I am seeing the same thing. Does seem odd to have so many consecutive days with winds out of the north (particularly on the coast in September).

I was looking at The Weather Channnel though and that usually isn't very reliable.

I understand there is a going be a front a week from today or so , so the North winds would be then. I promise you there are no north winds there now, south e winds will blow your car door shut.

Duh! Everyone knows a front coincides with opening weekend of dove season! Laughing

I heard that! They only time that the wind down there AIN'T from some semblence of SE is when a hurricane comes thru, or a "Manitoba Mauler" cold front does the same in the winter. Even then, having the wind stay N-NE for that long down there is about as likely as measurable snow: Yes, it's possible, but don't count on it. SE on the other hand is as close to a "sure bet" as you'll ever find!😎

Windfinder shows a front hitting end of next week is what he is talking about.

9 days of N wind variant seems unusual. Weather.com. Yes there are much better sites. No mention of an artic blast coming down south. Hear the bite gets better after front passes thru just don't see it shutting down for a week!

9 days of N winds.... In early October???? Be sure and let Jim Cantore know, so he can show up for the obligatory face-time on the Weather Channel. Until then, it's full sails from the SE! Make it so, #1!!
