Some of my fishing stuff was stolen from inside my garage. The most notable was the AVET 50W, and 30W both on custom rods that I built. They are both unique rods so ill know them when i see them, if i see them. I've filed a police report and am going to post pics on Craigslist. Any other suggestions _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Yes. I have the serial number of the 30w but not the 50w. They are supposed to check the incoming stuff against the police pawn shop database or whatever. I am going to look around myself though. Man makes me sick.... _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

check Ebay as well. The common deal for the pawn shops in the area is to sell good stuff like yours on ebay. It never hits the showroom floor, because if it did, the owner would likely find it. Craigslist, ebay, and the facebook pages that sell stuff as well.
I can't stand pawn shops. the only purpose they serve is a laundering avenue for stolen merchandise. easy quick way for thieves to dump merchandise. |

Didnt even think about ebay. My wife has plastered it all over Facebook. Thanks for the tip! _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

No i had it open while I was mowing the back yard. My wife was in and out of the front yard watering plants and working in the flower bed. She says she remembered 2 guys out front in a 4 door truck that looked like they didn't belong but she doesnt remember any details. I live on a cul de sac in a gated community so traffic is fairly low. They had just a few windows of opportunity and grabbed the 2 most expensive reels hanging on the wall. Left other AVET reels, tools, and other expensive items. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

X-Marto wireless, or Lorlex has cams that runs off batteries and wireless. I had perfect pics of the turds 💩 but still never heard anything back. It's sad for the victims. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Thanks Stan! The wife and I were just talking about getting some kind of surveillance. It's bad when you have a pic of them and you still can't get the police to do anything. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

| You might consider posting your photos here, as well. BTW, we like the Arlo by NetGear cameras, and they are wireless, and alert you on your phone. Some of their cameras require a modem, but they have a new model which only requires Verison for notification. Sorry about your loss. I'm always concerned about my garage door being open, and your report has just confirmed my concern is valid. |

I was looking at doing that but apparently photobucket is not working. I'll try to get them up. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Seriously considering moving to the area in 2 years, when I can retire from my first career. Trips to PINS are probably what I look forward to most every year. Would love to learn the LM and all the other waters available. It seems like since I have been a member, posts about thefts have been a constant concern. Sorry about your loss. I just can't believe you can't leave your garage open in the day, let alone when the both of you are working in the yard!! Thieves fricking suck!!
On another note, there are plenty of good folks there. Last trip down, stopped at the car wash for a sand and salt washoff. Pulled out of bay and waited for my buddy to finish. I didn't notice I had left my wallet in the bay ... don't ask me what I was thinking. About 5 minutes later, a guy came up said he had found it in the bay and returned it to me. Totally awesome. |

Ridiculous how many of these posts I read. I close my garage door while I'm mowing if my wife is not here & I'm "pretty sure" I don't have to. Neighbor up the street that is a guide almost never closes his. Been here 3.5 years. No theft reports.
Lots of houses for sale in our neighborhood right now. South Padre Island Golf Community in Laguna Vista. |
