A buddy of mine reported sighting, what he thought was about a 7' shark, while fishing Monday. We had waded the area of Fish Pass & CC Bay on Sunday. He was fishing the same area on Monday. He hit the water at sun up and had 4 nice trout when he spotted the shark crusing the drop off. Stated that the fin just kept swimming the bank, no rolling action, while swimming. He decided that he had enough fish for the day. _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

| Years ago a father of a team iso member was fishing the Oso by the university and had a shark grab onto a Stringer and started pulling him out to the Bay. Fortunately he bit through the stranger |

Had a shark take my stringer in Nueces and Baffin Bay before. Almost chummed the waters when it happened. _________________ Wish I was fishing. |

They are always around whether you see them or not. Bull sharks (in particular) have been seen in the Mississippi River as far north as St Louis, and if they made it that far, they've surely been further......
It's their home and what they do, we are only visitors! _________________ Dave

I fished that area a few weeks ago and had some dolphins in REALLY shallow, dorsal totally out of the water. Tearing up something. Buddy of mine thought it was a shark and was done for the day. Definitely a cool thing to see. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

He swears it was a shark, but, when fishing there , the day before, there were a lot of dolling working. The bait was prolific. Sure that many predators were attracted.
The day I fished with him the top water bit was on. Reds coming out of the water to pounce on the lure. What a blast. And I'm certain sharks are around a lot more than we would like to think. I'm still getting in the water. _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

I was fishing NAS pier back in the day...saw porpoises and could have sworn I seen a fin or two.
Same place some old timer was fishing could tell he was from up in cold country. Told me he was catching baby sharks he opened up his cooler full of hardheads. _________________ To have a right to do a thing is not at all the same as to be right in doing it. - G.K. Chesterton |

| Folks at the Hart Institute have said that if you have been in the Gulf of Mexico, you have had a shark within ten feet of you. I figure the sharks more scared of me than I am of it, but I don't go wading at dusk or at night. No use asking to get bit. |

There is safety in numbers ... if you are the only one in the water and a shark decides its lunch time ... guess who is lunch.
I never swim or wade fish alone for that reason.
Since my boat will run fairly shallow I hardly ever see any reason to get out of it to wade fish. _________________ Willee 361-563-1303 |

Statistics prove that you're far more likely to get hit by lightning than bitten by a shark. Look at all the complete morons who stay out in thunderstorms and suffer no ills...... I rest my case.
Enjoy your fishing, worrying sucks! _________________ Dave
