We got out late this morning 9ish and only was able to get a single 22 inch trout to the beach. Gold spoon was the bait and we caught a couple ladyfish as well.
Fish bite orange crab was working on whiting as well.
Going to head south of Bob Hall this evening. |

Bob Hall was no go as crowds were more than I wanted. Headed back to access Road 3 off 361 and pretty much struck out. Sand at all the entrances was very very deep and vehicles getting stuck left and right.
Going to try S. Packery in morning and see how that goes. |

True That ^^^ Only Access Rd. 2 (sorta-iffy) is good right now. Access Rd. 3, 6, and Newport Pass are rutted out pretty bad. Zahn Rd. is good, but the drive north has wide expanses of very soft sand. The City ought to re-grade Newport, but unless you have a 4X4, pick and choose your Access Roads with caution. (The PINS north sticks location is not bad).
BUT, once you get past the entrances, driving is pretty much a 8 out of 10 just about everywhere, save for the CC Pass / Newport Pass beach area. |
