| Thinking of making an early morning run to hit the surf with my son and hunt for trout thanks to a favorable wave forecast. Hoping to get an up to date water condition report. Anyone hit the sand today? TIA |

I'm in Arkansas, but checked the web cam in the sticky section. All I can say is....... WOW!! Crappy surfing condition, but beautiful fishing conditions!!!

Good luck. If your like me you can read reports and see perfect weather for fishing while working, and plan to go first day off. Get the first day off and its the worst possible weather, and no fish biting LOL.

| Water is beautiful on Padre Island national seashore but still a little choppy for me. Did manage to catch a few trout with artificial's and amazingly my first Texas snook...only about 14 inches but still fun. Water is brown on the beach up around packery and for about 10 miles south of there but green about a quarter-mile off the beach. Did not find the green water to the beach till I got down to PINS |

Thanks for the update. May just start South and fish our way north. A buddy of mine caught a half dozen smallish snook a few weeks ago at the north sticks. Interesting to see them anywhere but the rocks.
What kind of artificial did you find the trout with? |

| Corky fat boy and natural colored soft plastics on quarter ounce Jigheads. No topwater action for me. Not fast and furious but I did enjoy it with the beautiful water and a few fish. |
