Went fishing with my good neighbor Darrel aka dmac today. We launched at Billings with tacos on board from Jalisco"s at 6am. Winds were awesome just perfect for drifting, water clarity was very clear not a whole lot of bait working. However the perch were abundant. The Reds were bigger today one is 27, one is 273/4 , the properly tagged one went 28 1/2, released one that was 28 1/4. The trout were in the 17 inch range. I caught the on my favorite which is the Norton Bull minnow with a 1/8 oz jig head. Darrel kept action going all morning on topwaters just not a lot of keepers. We made long drifts and finally called it around 11am and headed home. We fished in 1-2-3 ft of water. It was steaming hot and the sun beat me down I must be getting old or something because I think Darrel could have gone on to sunset. I could get up and do it again tomorrow bit I don't know if I want to. As always cheers everyone IMS.

Very nice! And yes, it was steaming out there. We were off the water at 9:30. Unloaded the boat, cleaned everything, showered, cranked down the ac, took a nap. Very Happy
