| There is a major road re-do project leading into the park, so I'm thinking all the normal stuff will be back once it's done (save for the cameras.... Those were knocked out a long time ago and they never got replaced). |

Knocked out on purpose or did someone run them over? _________________ "Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail." - Kinky Friedman

| the federal government has an obscene amount of money, so they saw fit to totally reconstruct the roads in the national park that were actually in better shape than 90% of the roads in our city. |

| That road was so nice! Didn't know the cameras were gone. That's odd. prolly getting undergroup X-ray machines installed. And invisible drone air bases. 🍻 cheers |

haha! great play on words...
I would expect more cameras with the rebuild, although they will likely be on top of the guard shack...be a little harder to wipe those out, right?

| I hope they get the cameras back up soon. I'd really like results for a new colonoscopy this summer. |

The cameras will be back.....for the third time. For now, they are asking visitors to stop at Malaquite to pay the entrance fee. My guess is they are losing out on a ton of money because no one is going to stop once they get inside the park. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

they could put a temporary trailer there on the side of the road...guess that would be too easy though....

| There looks like a widened area near where the cameras used to be. I'm sure they'll be back. |

| There are several spots on the park road that have very substantial reinforcements along the sides, almost as if they were low water crossings. I can't tell what they will be used for, but no doubt it will be cameras or other sensors to detect bad guys hauling hay bales off the beach. |

As fate would have it, I was there the night the cameras were knocked down. Some young kid in a pickup truck was hauling balls out of the park, while drunk, and misjudged the entrance. Turned his truck into a trashcan and managed to remove the cameras and all of the cable structure surrounding them. That was my first ever night camping at BIB. I didn't think much of it at the time. _________________ There is a difference between declaring success and achieving success. |
