Headed out from Charlies early yesterday morning. The cut leading out to the bay is impassable with ultra low tides(numerous boats getting grounded). We headed down the intercoastal towards seadrift and made our first stop around southpass area(cut through southpass also permanently closed in) wanted to compare the action and toughness of the Down South lure vs Academy's thumping mullet. Pleasantly surprised the action was a little better and the lure held up to 55 trout. Have pics of the Down South plastic and my thumping mullet(that lasted 4 trips and about 150-200 )trout. Small trout were stacked up in the deeper cuts and larger trout where on edges of depth changes and in shallower flats with scattered shell. After quick limit and with low tides we went out for a little exploring for future sweet spots.

Second trout of the morning and the handle on my Curado snapped off. Reel has been in action from 12-13 years.

Great post! Was you working this under a popping cork or just by itself? I would assume by itself but you never know

No cork. Just slow retrieve.
Headed back out tomorrow with great tide movement and awesome weather, need to upsize my catch a little.

Yes sir, I get off work at 4 and I am going to pack up and head down towards PINS. Probably going to go fish the north Mansfield jetty! I need to feel that salt breeze!
