I tooka private charter 24 hr out on the 3rd, and we did really good on ajs, but found out Falcon is no longer lit, so isnt holding very many blackfin. We caught 23 aj, 30 bft, almost a limit of jumbo bliners, a 257# mako, and a 60# hoo that smoked a high speed lure down at 15.5 knots, super impressive strike! (I was standing right next to the rod when it hit, and watched it dump over 400 yds of line in 30 seconds)
Since Falcon is no longer lit, we are changing our spring 24 hrs to 30 hrs, to get to other places for the tuna. The price is a little bit more than the current 24 hour price, ($450 cash instead of $375) but we will be running alot farther and giving more fishing time. The trips will still focus on a limit of aj and as many tuna as we can haul... if for some reason the tuna dont play on a trip, we will bottom fish it out. The boats still have a limited load of 18 people, and you can bring your own food and drink on all of our overnighters.
Call Deep Sea Headquarters at 361-749-5597 to book one of these trips. |

Capt,
Being that this trip is now further, is there a chance for YFT? I had a group of 15 guys that were ready to go mid to late February and I was going to reserve the boat this weekend. However some of the guys are on the fence now scrambling to put together more cash.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Stinger-A |

| Typically, i have had poor luck with any numbers on yellowfin that late in the year. However, last year there was some success. I think a 30hr is a hair short to get you a fair shake at a limit of amberjack AND enough time to fish at the floaters. The rigs i am going blackfin fishing at with the new 30hr plan wont be holding yellowfin. However, if you are chartering the boat we can discuss the give and take of it. Also, you could charter the boat for 36, 48, or 60 hrs; all it takes is extra money. |
