Last week the fish moved more into a cold weather pattern finally. Today the tide movement and lower tides made for a promising day to take a newby. Hit first drain on the bay side at 7:00 and the four of us only managed two trout. Been wanting to try a grassy and mud flat near a cut that is a early Spring hot spot when the sun warms up the mud/grass bottom. Caught 9 nice trout there all in knee deep water. All 7 were between 17-20". Trying to hit an easy fishing hole for a new fisherman we went to a deeper cut that is easy to fish. Lots of dinks mixed in with our remaining 9 to finish our limit. Bite was interesting in deep cuts it was a light tap and on the mud flat the trout would hammer it. Lures were saltwater assasin and my favorite the 5" thumpin mullet! Third limit and still same lure👍🏽

Sorry, one sand trout in the pic. Didn't want to leave it open for those who will count them. Lol
Alway seems like they send out the " survey"
People on the days when only a few boats are out. Never understood that.
Apparently according to her not many fish were brought in other than reds.

Always amazed at how cold I can feel at 40+ degrees down here. Been in 0 degrees and I swear that I am every bit as cold at 40 aroundf here. If you're on the water the tempertures are even magnified.
Your fish catch andf report was excellent. Great job and way to break in the newbe.

nice fishing in the cold..
wish i was there, but stuck in cold upper west texas working.. in the snow, ice howling wind just trying not to get frost bite.
