First, thanks to Tyler and everyone active in this forum for sharing all of your knowledge. It's been incredibly helpful to read through loads of posts and learn about PINS in particular.

I had one last question before we head down for the weekend tomorrow morning...it sounds like the tides are running high. Our group is 12 with kids and looking to avoid being backed up against the dunes to stay dry. Is there more sand at Little Shell vs Big Shell?

Last weekend the widest areas was north of the 20s.
After that, it would be real narrow with high tides running higher.

Maybe someone who has been in the past day or two could fill in on more current conditions.

Just got back from a charter. We are still getting some swells from the hurricane in the Atlantic. They should die down but, there is a cold front rolling through tomorrow morning bringing NE winds with it. They tend to push water up the beach. To be on the safe side I would camp North of the 20 and find a good spot up close to the dunes. Good news is you have a falling tide during the day but a 2.0 ft high tide at night. That is high without any wind pushing it. Jeff Wolda

Thanks guys. We ended up camping around the 17. High tides are definitely running up to the vegetation at night. Tough fishing conditions so far, but managed an under slot red and lots of skipjack and whiting. Surf is pretty rough. I'm typing this from stripes in CC as we needed to get a cell signal to deal with keys locked in a truck - don't even ask...Smile. Headed back to fish while I wait for the spare key to arrive...could be worse
