Used to fish it all the time but haven't the last few years...hoping to change that this fall/winter.

If you're new to fishing over there, go in the morning...boat runs every hour until noon, then every 2 hours in the afternoon. Getting 'stuck' over there on a slack tide in the afternoon is no fun. No tide=no fish.

If you don't have any kind of cleated shoes, stick to the channel side while walking out past the surf break--there's usually a small section there that doesn't get slick-as-ice algae on it. Don't be afraid to rock hop if you see slick spots, and just go slow especially pulling a cart. They rent carts at the Wharf for $10 I think.

The surf break can be great for reds. There's a broken spot in the jetty just past that, can't miss it, holds trout on the surf side sometimes. Tombstone rock is just past that, channel side...you'll see the memorial plate on there. Holds trout in the channel sometimes.

There's some other folks on here that can give more info, but that should get you started.

I've been fishing the north jetty for a few years now with limited success. Fall seems to be the time to be on the rocks. Move around until you find the fish both surf side and channel. Tight lines

I would aspire to have your limited success. Very Happy Hoping to give it a try in several weeks.

Boy isn't that the truth! If anybody has the North Jetty down it would be Fredrick!!!

I have had some FANTASTIC days out there but also had some real duds. Fun place to fish regardless. I hope to make it out there at least once this fall.

Also if they aren't biting out on the jetty come back to the rocks by the dock and seawall, use live shrimp or even small pieces of dead shrimp and fish right against the rocks for mangrove snapper. They will be on the small side but can load up on them if you get a good spot.. I even caught trigger fish in the rocks there on down past the dock a few years ago..
I use very small split shot and small hook with a small float to fish there... Really fun with an ultra lite!!
