Yesterday when Mary went to take to the grandkids to see The Magnificent Seven I saw a break in the clouds and went out for a couple hours. BTW, a majority of that movie was shot just miles from my place in NM. Anyway, wound up releasing 8 keeper trout but no red fish.
Got home just in time before the skies opened. My neighbor wasn't so lucky. He came in drenched. Today I checked the radar and saw there was a little window so I went out and stayed close by. CPR 3 slot Reds, the first and biggest was 23", as well as three keeper trout.
Got home just in time again before the rains came down. Another benefit of being a couple minutes from home. Good thing I don't use shrimp for bait as the perch are thick and aggressive as you can see by my tailless sand eel. One could easily go through a pint in a couple of drifts. |
