| Never tried to catch these before, can anyone tell me where a good place would be to place a trap in the Port A area? Does the water have to be brackish? |

Howdy!
Back in July I castnetted tons of them (and finger mullet) in the Sailboat Channel off Hwy 361. Some of them were 4-5 inches long. Hope this helps. |

Cast net in inches of water.
Walk slowly until you spook em, they only swim a few feet then stop. |

Any Marsh type areas usually have them. Even some sandy shorelines. As was already said...walk along the shoreline till you spook them then throw.
The key is they are usually ON THE SHORELINE. Watch in very shallow water and throw the net very shallow. Its even OK if some of the net lands on land. That's how shallow they usually are. If you are just chunking the net out on the middle of a slough or as far out as you can you probably won't get many. |

| Yes, any little mud cut into the marsh grass shallow on the shoreline is the ticket between now and mid to late december. |

A marshy slough or canal location and a minnow trap baited with a cracked crab overnight usually produces mud minnows successfully. _________________ Fish today. Procrastinate tomorrow. |

Go out at night on the port a stretch and pull off anywhere and shine your headlights on the water and wait. The water will start moving with them. Throw your net and you're set |
