Mary and I got to SBH this morning about 6:30. She wanted to get sunrise pictures. I put out a rod with fish bites and shrimp and proceeded to catch hardhead after hardhead after hardhead. Was able to cast up one small Pompano that I cut for bait. It didn't produce anything. Finally the sun started can come up over the horizon and the mullet started showing up in shin deep water. Cast up a number of mullet and proceeded to put them on my long rods. While casting I was finally able to see the quality of the water; which was not good. I couldn't even see my toes in sandy color water. I caught one large skipjack that I also used for cut bait. I got a hit on one of my mullet and when I brought it in it was half gone and look like a blue fish bite but I wasn't sure. Put another one on and sure enough I caught a blue.
Then on the skipjack I got two more blue fish.
By 9am, when the sun got above the clouds we started feeling aerosol irritation. Mary more than me. Left about 10:30 because of a lack of a bite and Mary's burning eyes. No dead fish washing up at this time. |

Thanks for the report. Glad you got out there before it gets too bad _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |
