On Sunday I was out side on my place in Duval from about 8am til 1pm and the heat snuck up on me. Was drinking plenty I thought. But I didn't have coconut water this time. I like that stuff.

Made a solo trip out Fri evening and fished all day Saturday. Been spending a lot of time outside and in the gym so I can say I was trained for it. Haven't fished since March when I was in waders. Not this time.

Friday, I waved to a guy travelling the opposite direction on Waldron. He was pulling a super nice Shallow Sport. He waved back hopefully noticing I had the same make of truck and boat. I would venture to guess who that other guy was.

As for Saturday, the fishing got better for me as the sun got higher. The morning was slow - could have been the spot or me working the rust out. By 11:00 am it started to pick up. Probably had the best bite between 2:00 and 4:00 in the afternoon in about two feet of water.

Question: why report Feels Like?

I get it. As perspiration evaporates it cools the surface temperature. As humidity increases there is less evaporation and therefore less cooling effect. Wind speed, clothing, how about BMI as a factor? Not everyone perspires the same and we all have different tolerances. So feels like to me is going to be what feels like to you? Kind of like the conversation in the Matrix movie about how everything tastes like chicken. Its based on assumptions. I'm going with the what the mercury says. I also dislike digital watches - I need a second hand.

That is all.

That's mostly for people who are laboring outside actually doing work. Not ones sitting in an airconditioned office. When you can stand still in the shade and sweat you need fluids. My weather station sits high and is in the breeze it may say 95 but it factors in the humidity and displays the heat index . I know it's 95 but my brain and body feels 107 . I'll go with 107 for safety reasons and take a break accordingly. Now in Las Vegas it can be 100 degs with 0% humidity your sweat evaporates very quick. You can get out of the swimming pool and be shivering before you get a chance to dry off. Too bad we can't do that here. like right now it's 0800 and the temp is only 87 the humidity has dropped to 90% and when you factor both it feels like 103 already. The winds are 2-5 mph I just back from taking the dogs for a walk and I'm wet from sweat. Zero evaporation almost makes want to get out there and dig a ditch. lol that ain't happening. The only way one could enjoy himself fishing right now would be wading or going fast in the boat to cool off. Very Happy

I'm bad about not taking breaks when I should. For the last couple of days I've been adding to the shop and clearing property line of overgrowth consisting of three inch thick vines and all of their twisting and tangling selves into the oaks. I can tell you it feels like 107 out there pulling, tugging, chopping, and cutting. Thanks to my wife and son, they force my break with an occasional glass of ice water, which I enjoy in the seat of a swing or in front of a shop fan. Yesterday she brought me a glass of iced sweet tea. By 2, it's just too hot to continue. My body tells me, "That's it. You're done."

Brother some jobs you just gotta save for that first cold front. However adding to the shop is very important. Coming from a shop kinda guy. Love my shop. be careful mate and hydrate.

This is going from a 10x20 to a 20x20. I was a little cramped.

This is going away. The tunnel to the left is where I go in to cut from the inside out.
