My Boat lift keeps popping the GFI every time I turn the switch. Thinking the motor is bad. Anyone had this happen?

I had the same problem. I cut off the inline gfi that came with the unit and reconnected the plug. There is a gfi on the circuit at the dock, so no need for two. That solved the problem.
