My friend and I took our wives for the weekend and had a good afternoon on Saturday. Even with the winds East bay still held good color. We made several drifts over some scattered shell and ended up with 10 trout, 2 reds, 1 black drum, 2 sand trout, and a really large croaker. All trout were 16"-18" up until the last two that I caught. One was 22" and the other was 24". Not a bad afternoon and a decent mess of fillets. Great time with the wife and friends.
BTW if you are in town eat at Poco Playa. They had a shrimp and grits special that was fantastic as well as everything else that was tried. They will cook your catch fou you for$13.00 per person we did not try it but I if it is like everything else they serve I'm sure it worthwhile. |

Thanks for the report! It's been years since I have fished that Bay. I was there once and the water looked like yohoo but you could see and here trout slurping up shrimp. Flakman and I got a few nice ones on topwaters too! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |
