I had a complete re-roof done on my house and shop three years ago. We have had nothing but problems since and the roof leaks worse now than it did before the re-roof. The original roofer has been out at least 6 times over those three years to "fix" the leaks to no avail. After his last visit, he said that the warranty doesn't cover my problems as it was not something they did. Namely flashing around the chimney. A complete re-roof should include new flashing. Now they're claiming to have lost my file. This may end up in court but before then I'm trying to get my ducks in a row. Right now, I'm looking for a roofer to come out and inspect the work so that I can get a professional opinion on how the work was done. If anyone knows someone who'd be willing to come out and look I would appreciate the recommendation.
Thanks

Hey Aaron, check with your homeowners insurance carrier, most have a approved vendor list.

When I was going to college I would work with my father in law doing construction and roofing . New eave stripping and flashing was part of the job.Problem is a lot of roofers don't know how to properly step flash a chimney it's a big leak problem.

"Approved" doesn't really mean much. Being on a carriers "approved vendor" list means nothing more than the contractor is willing to work for insurance company prices. The carrier will not stand behind any "approved vendors" work and you are in the same boat as far as any workmanship/warranty disputes as if you hired Joe Blow off the street to do the job.
