Just now posting up our trip from April 7-10 down in Port Mansfield. Left San Antonio about 8 am with the brother in law and nephew after grocery shopping. Got to Mansfield about 1 pm and dropped off everything at the house we rented and got on the water. Talked to some locals that mentioned fishing has been tough. But that didn't damper our spirits. We had 3 days to figure things out. Went east and south and picked up 5 trout. Tide was low. Friday morning headed north to the cut and planned to stay up north all day. Fished all the usual spots with not much to show for other than dinks. Couldn't even find the redfish. Still low tides. Took a long break on a cabin pier to wait for the evening go to spot. Finally hit the spot and fished till dark and caught 10 nice trout to 19" to finish out our limit. Also picked up 1 sand trout, 2 flounder and a drum. Finally called it quits and made the 45 min run back to Mansfield. New light bar I installed worked out great. Saturday was a blowout. Wind was blowing hard. Took a beating as we went to the east cut. Nothing! Then headed south and nothing. Fished green water and dirty water. At the end of the day while heading saw some birds working just outside of Port and caught 2 trout and threw em back. Was looking for reds. All fish caught on live shrimp. All in all great trip.

I had been trolling on the 2cool boating forum and ran across someone talking about which LED light bar to go with. www.no1parts.com is the website to research the light bars. I bought the 14" dual row spot/flood led light bar on amazon and found brackets on amazon. I paid $30 for the light bar and 20 for the brackets. I figured for the price I can't go wrong. I don't have a long term report on the light bar but it works great so far and is very bright. The specs state the LED's have a 50,000 hour lifespan. After I watched the videos from the website I figured I would give them a shot. The brand is Eyourlife. I bought them on amazon cause I feel more comfortable using my card on amazon. The light bar was less expensive to. Very good quality! _________________ Shallow Sportn' it
