Just got back in and finished cleaning fish waiting for the storm to hit. Radar shows that it could be hellaceous. Decided with the High Tides I was not going to fishing in my usual spot. U worked shorelines, spoil islands and shallow water. Wound up with a limit of trout and red all on soft Plastics of various colors. I used pink, tequila purple, clear and black. All worked. Skipjacks were a terror today. However I found that in 1 to 2 feet of water there were no Skipjacks to worry about. Once I got deeper than 2 they would just tear everything up. Don't know how many times I had to retie.
I
I now have enough fillets in the freezer to take care of my community fish fry in New Mexico, and Mary's "The Voice" get together. I can now go back to strictly catch and release

You've had your usual hot hand. Congratulations on a nice catch.

Good to hear. We'll have to fish sometime and I will not get you stranded this time.

Was out at bird island. You could see skippies busting on top all morning. Surprisingly only caught one. Water color change was about a mile north of the ramp. Brown around the ramp and south a bit.
