So I've only ever caught a few of them, but hooked into a pretty good sized one (over two feet) yesterday on PINS. I CPR'd him, but, in a moment of possible insanity, I wondered after releasing him if they are worth the meat. His tail was pretty darn thick. Didn't look like much in the wings. Any thoughts/opinions?

On the report, I made a turn around trip from Austin-- first time in months, but I REALLY missed the surf. The beach was a freakin highway all the way to the 40s. For those who care to read the surf, there were two NICE pinches down island, one around 38, the other around 43. Water was OK, but cleared up as you went south. Bay grass was a little tough in the first gut, but manageable. Outside of one 18" trout on a silver spoon (YES!!), no real table fare, just a couple jacks. But it was good to get a rod in the water and smoke a couple cigars on the sand.

It's always good to get out on the sand.
How was the driving out there?

From the original report: "The beach was a freakin highway all the way to the 40s." Laughing

Can you imagine catching a band: Guitar - Red and or Black Drum - and a Sea Bass.
