The place on the Island is finally back in business, so we had to try it out. They did quite the upgrade to the decor, and it was pleasant (and not nearly as noisy as I remembered).
The food, Ehhh!!! At least the blue glowing bar was memorable.
A New Mexico-Coastal Fusion!?!?! Lots of chili (both green and red) inspired dishes. Weird menu, but not too pricey.
The bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers were big, but the bacon was likely done somewhere else, because the pepper was nearly raw (crunchy). Came with a red chili dipping sauce that was surprisingly good. [But the appetizers showed up and then the entree's about 30 seconds later?!?!]
The pork stuffed burrito had potential, but it seemed pre-made (as one of the signature dishes). The filling was warm, but the edges were cold, as was the dirty rice. The dirty rice was worth it flavor-wise, but it was cold???
The wife-unit felt the same way with her fish dish. It wasn't tilapia, but it wasn't anything over-the-top.
All in all, I'd give it a 4. ~

| I had been wondering. Looked at the menu online and was disappointed there wasn't much in the seafood dept. Those New Mexico recipes can get weird quick. We are still gonna try it out but we sure miss the old restaurants food..... |
