Todays report has been mixed. Down south of Bird Island between the spoil islands the fishing is good. The Meadows along the grass line are holding good box trout and the reds are also finally hitting. The gutter area and the south shoreline inside of Baffin are producing a lot of fish right now. there are good reports of big box trout and reds being caught in Nueces Bay, out back and along the shoreline close to White Point as well as the middle reefs. the ULM from the Boat Hole down to just north of Bird Island has had a lot of pressure from spring break and all the boat, pier and wade traffic. the fish are there but hard to catch. The water is still hovering around 70* and warming. From the areas i was today you can see about 1 1/2ft deep. Top waters, slow sinking and light jig heads seem to work best. look for the bait activity and hold on. Good Luck to all

Does the water down south still look like brown tide?

I've been fishing the Bird Island area for a while and the brown water has been bad for the past week. Visibility has been 6 inches or less in most areas down south, but I've heard people saying good things about the water clarity further south down in baffin.
